Thapelo Maseko may have missed out on a chance to go play in Europe, but a move to Mamelodi Sundowns does not necessarily close the door to a move abroad in future, especially with age being on his side.
Over the last few years, Sundowns have managed to secure deals for players to go play abroad and the latest one, Cassius Mailula, will give the former SuperSport United player hope that he will get an opportunity to ply his trade beyond the shores of the country.

Maseko attracted interest from Belgian outfit Westerlo, who previously had Lyle Foster on their books before selling him to now (English) Premier League club Burnley. Westerlo put in more than one offer for the 19-year-old winger, but SuperSport rejected them all and it appears Sundowns made them a deal they could not turn down.
The Bafana Bafana winger was presented as a new Sundowns player earlier this week and might feel that, if everything goes well, then there is still a chance of him making a move abroad.
Some of the big name Sundowns players who have moved abroad in recent years are Percy Tau, Bongani Zungu and Keagan Dolly, all got opportunities to make big moves to Europe. With that in mind, Maseko would need to command a regular spot in the team at Sundowns to keep the door for a big move to Europe alive.

Playing consistently in the CAF Champions League will be good because there are scouts who are usually on the lookout for African talent. Maseko will need to put in the work to keep his dream alive.
