Kaizer Chiefs could finally have an element that can raise their level, something the club is understood to have lacked in recent times, in addition to the signing of Sibongiseni Mthethwa.
There have been calls for Amakhosi left-back Sifiso Hlanti to have more competition in the team and following his unavailability against Sekhukhune United, Edmilson Dove was handed his first start of the season.

Dove capped off his first start with a winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Babina Noko and was named Man of the Match.
Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki also dropped Given Msimango, who was replaced by Njabulo Ngcobo, also for his first start of the season.
The two changes present competition for places in the team, something that former Amakhosi midfielder Michael Nkambule believes should always be present at a big club.
"At big clubs when they sign players it's all about competition. You need somebody to give you competition, there must not be anyone who relaxes in a big team," Nkambule said on TK Solutions TV Youtube Channel.
Nkambule praised the impact made by Dove, as he believes Chiefs full-backs hardly overlap and that he gave the team something different going forward.
"Most of the time their full-backs are stable, they don't overlap but if you can see (against Sekhukhune), Dove had a good game, because you can see he's joining the attack more," he said.
"To score goals you need to have more numbers upfront," he added.

Amakhosi defenders have also been criticized for not being comfortable on the ball and the inclusion of Ngcobo addressed those concerns somewhat, as he could build from the back and not just kick the ball forward.
The signing of Mthethwa, who made his debut off the bench with 25 minutes to go, will also raise the level of competition in midfield, with the debate already going on which midfielder among Edson Castillo, Yusuf Maart and George Matlou, should make way for 'Ox'.
It's been a long time since Chiefs had the quality of players who could compete for positions in the starting line-up and that is most likely to raise the level of the team.
