With the results coming in dribs and drabs under interim coach Cavin Johnson, Amakhosi have planned to appoint a new coach to take the team forward.
Chiefs have dropped to 8th on the log after winning only one of their last nine matches in all competitions.
The team was also knocked out of the Nedbank Cup by Motsepe Foundation Championship side Milford.
Johnson is likely to return to his main role as the Head of Academy in Naturena.
Mamelodi Sundowns senior coach Manqoba Mngqithi has emerged as a favourite for the Amakhosi job, while several other coaches have been linked with the Soweto giants in recent months.
As reported by the Siya crew, Donald 'Ace' Khuse who has been working as the club's scout, has had people looking at offering him to the club for a role in the senior team.
News reaching the Siya crew is that the club's former striker Wedson Nyirenda is also keen on the Chiefs job and could be set to apply.

During his time in the PSL, Nyirenda made history with Baroka FC when he led the Limpopo outfit to their first ever trophy in the topflight with the Telkom Knockout in 2018.
"Coach Nyirenda is keen on a return to the PSL. He is someone who has big ambitions and coaching Chiefs, a club he did well with as a player, is one of his dreams. He believes he can do well at the club and help them to return to the top," said the source.
