Kaizer Chiefs defender Happy Mashiane has expressed his delight after being handed the starting left-back position following the departure of Thatayaone Ditlhokwe to Al-Ittihad in Libya.
The 26-year-old was drafted into the starting line-up and delivered an impressive performance, which he describes as a significant motivation for his career.
Mashiane admitted that he had not seen much action in recent games, but the opportunity to step up in such a crucial match gave him the drive he needed.
"Obviously, I hadn't played a lot in a while. So coming back into that big game was a big motivation for me. I had to go in and give my best. With the guidance of the coach and his technical staff, I felt confident and it turned out great," he told the club's official website.

Mashiane has made seven appearances in all competitions this season, and his consistent performances have made him a reliable figure in the squad. He now aims to build on this momentum and continue to prove his worth to the technical staff and supporters alike.
"Personally, I am doing everything I can to give the coach what he wants from me," Mashiane continued
As Kaizer Chiefs continue to progress in the Nedbank Cup, Mashiane will be crucial in the upcoming quarter-final clash against Stellenbosch FC.
