Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Kenny Niemach has stated that it's work in progress for Amakhosi to reach the level that they are known for and to then compete with Mamelodi Sundowns again.
The legend who has played for both Sundowns and Chiefs in the past, told Soccer Laduma exclusively that the Glamour Boys had a plan going into the current campaign and that their recent results in the DStv Premiership and the MTN8 are proving that.

Niemach believes Chiefs' players are showing great character but that they are not close to Sundowns' level yet.
"It's good to see Chiefs' results are improving. It seems they got a plan on how to play but I think they need a striker coach," Niemach told Soccer Laduma.
"Someone who has played the game before who can help the strikers on how to compose themselves when in front of goal. But I understand it's a work in progress as they try to find the true Kaizer Chiefs identity.
"That is to have at least one player who can entertain the crowd. Someone who holds the ball like Doctor Khumalo or Jabu Pule. The thing is they have such players but they are afraid to be themselves.
"They are scared to come out of their shell. We need arrogant players without fear. That's how Doctor and Jabu Pule were," Niemach said.
He added that supporters come to the stadium to be entertained and enjoy the game, hinting that the current Molefi Ntseki tactics do not draw ideal crowds but that it's a step in the right direction.
"We need to see super stars! Supporters pay money to be entertained and see style and arrogance from the players. I think that the identity is lost but Ntseki and Arthur Zwane are bringing it back.
"They should just improve on progression when attacking. They can start slow from the defence but when it gets to the wingers they should use the speed and move the ball into the strikers to punish the opposition.
"That's why I said they need a strikers' coach. They can even have four coaches on the bench. Goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and a strikers' coaches. If it works then use it. But otherwise what we are seeing now is promising though it's a work in progress," Niemach concluded. READ: The Touching Story Of Pirates' Maswanganyi
