Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Keagan Dolly has set the record straight on his purported salary earned during his time at the club.

There was widespread speculation that Dolly, who was a marquee signing from Chiefs back in 2021, was earning over a R1 million-a-month at Naturena.
This figure was thought to be close to what he was pocketing during his four-year stint at French Ligue 1 side Montpellier.
While it is no secret that Dolly was well-taken care of at Chiefs, he says the figure was nowhere near what was reported in the media - and that the speculation around his salary caused friction both within the club and in his personal life.
"With all the allegations of how much I earned at Kaizer Chiefs and what I was on and me not playing as much. Obviously, the supporters felt, like look the club is paying you so much and you're not playing, but then I tried so much not to look at social media and let those things affect me. I try to control everything I can," he told the Siya crew in an exclusive interview.

"I knew that wasn't the right figure so I couldn't control what other people thought of me and how I was handling myself on the field or not. I always felt like when I did go on the field for Kaizer Chiefs, I gave my best, you know?
"But yeah, at the end of the day, with the media and blowing things out of proportion is crazy. It's something I still sometimes just think about and laugh at," he said.
Dolly, who is looking sharp and back to his best, says he is looking forward to getting back onto the field and doing what he does best, having last played a competitive match back in May this year.
