A former Kaizer Chiefs defender feels the players did not come to the party when it mattered most, leading to the sacking of Molefi Ntseki.
Ntseki was relieved of his duties on Monday after Amakhosi were booted out of the Carling Knockout by AmaZulu on Saturday, leaving the club after just four months in arguably the hottest coaching seat in the Premiership.

Chiefs were knocked out of two major knockout competitions with Ntseki and their Premiership form was not convincing, with just three victories in nine matches. Cavin Johnson has come in as interim head coach while Amakhosi look for someone to occupy a seat that many coaches have not been able to handle over the last eight years.
"To be honest, this is football. Losing your job as a coach is not nice because you have a family to feed. Coach Molefi Ntseki is one of the good coaches, but you know sometimes things might not go your way and you need to move and give space (to someone else). The results did not favour him much, even though they were playing good football to be honest," former Amakhosi defender Mokete Tsotetsi said to the Siya crew.
"The only thing is that defensively...at the end of the day the boys are the ones who are playing. The coach can do the work, but they were not applying themselves very well because you can see that they were conceding easy goals. The defence let them down most of the time. I think that's where things went wrong for him. The defence let him down a bit. There is still a lot of room to improve."

Currently in eighth place on 11 points, Amakhosi will take on high-flying Golden Arrows away from home on Saturday. It will be a big test for Johnson, who will be under pressure to get the team going after the inconsistent start to the campaign.
