The story
Mamelodi Sundowns coach, Manqoba Mngqithi, sees potential in Thapelo Maseko playing as a striker, beyond his usual role on the wing.
The 20-year-old, who was known for his dribbling skills and shearing pace his days at SuperSport United, continued to play out wide for Rulani Mokwena in his first season at Mamelodi Sundowns and for Bafana Bafana at the Africa Cup of Nations this year.
Mngqithi sat down with club legends Hlompho Kekana and Teko Modise on Sundowns TV's Pitchside Podcast, stating that he believes Maseko's pace and knack for finishing make him better suited for a striker role, mentioning that he's not fully convinced that the 20-year-old is a winger long term.
