The story
In arguably the biggest coaching move this off-season, Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club have officially announced Rulani Mokwena as their new head coach.
Mokwena, who dramatically departed Mamelodi Sundowns last week, joins Les Rouges on a reported two-year deal, with the 37-year-old landing in Casablanca earlier this afternoon.
The ex-Masandawana boss already has a special connection with the ardent Wydad supporters. In last year's inaugural African Super League, Rulani and a few members of his technical team at Downs joined the Wydad fans in doing the Viking clap:

It's safe to say that the Wydad fans will be over the moon with this news and are likely looking forward to recreating that moment with Rulani in their club's colours.
Before announcing Rulani as the new head coach, Wydad dropped a massive hint by sharing a teaser video that showed glimpses of his beige trench coat.
In another video that circulated heavily on Twitter/X, saw an excited Rulani making his way through the Mohammed V International Airport on his way to his new club.
The 37-year-old, who won four DStv Premiership titles as Downs' head coach and co-head coach, is set to be unveiled as Wydad's new boss on Thursday evening, 19:00 SA time, with the plenty fanfare expected.
