The story
Former Kaizer Chiefs youth product, Puso Dithejane named the person who's had the biggest influence in his professional football career so far.
The 20 year-old utility player is making the most of his opportunity at TS Galaxy after parting ways with the Glamour Boys in 2023, going on to make nearly 50 appearances in all competitions for the Rockets after debuting last season.
Despite his rather unceremonious exit from the Soweto giants, Puso named his former DSTV Diski Challenge coach at the club, Vela Khumalo as the most influential person in his journey to becoming professional.
"I was helped by coach Vela in the DDC, the coach for Kaizer Chiefs. He helped me a lot because he scouted me from the School of Excellence. He told me that I'm good and that I need to put in more effort into what I'm doing," he told SuperSport TV.
Khumalo manages his responsibilities as Chiefs Youth coach alongside his role as head coach of the South African U-17 national team. He will be guiding the country's future talents at this month's Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Dithejane mentioned how his family serves as extra motivation for him to succeed in football and touched on how the DStv Diski Challenge molded him as a player.
