The story
When looking at stylish PSL players who could easily excel and build a career in fashion, be it as a model or designer, Linda Mntambo stands out as one of them.
The Soweto-born Sekhukhune United midfielder is a perfect example of the growing link between football and contemporary fashion and the age of 35, the ex-Buccaneer is showing no signs of slowing down.
What stands out about Mntambo's unique style is that he doesn't solely rely on high-end luxury brands to put together a polished look.
Instead, he frequently uplifts local brands, like Soweto-based StafSetu, which is also favored by many Gauteng-based footballers, as well as Boys of Soweto.
Sprouted from the biggest Township in South Africa back in 2011, Boys of Soweto started out as a fashion styling blog on Tumblr before becoming one of the prominent fashion storytellers in Johannesburg.
Founded by Vusumuzi "Bobthestylist" Ndima, Mntambo is a huge supporter of the brand and was used as a muse for one of their newer golf shirt designs.
