The story
Grant Kekana jumped onto the trend of male athletes breaking gender norms by getting his nails done last season and promises to up the ante for the 2024/25 season.
The Bafana Bafana centre-back slowly progressed from just black nail paint to expressing his creative side with dynamic nail art.
The DStv Prem Defender of the Season shared a satirical announcement video, donning pair of glassing and a black suit at what appears to be an office, with the South African flag behind to give it that feel of a Presidential address.
"Hello everyone, it's your boy Grant Kekana. Thank you for joining me, I have a very important announcement to make," joked the 31-year-old, adding:
"There've been rumours circulating about me and today, I'm hear to clear those rumours and break my silence. Word on the street is, people be saying: 'Grant doing his nails, Grant painting his nails, who is Grant? What is Grant?' It's just a part of myself guys, I really, really enjoy doing my nails. Because what I liked five years ago, you guys like today," said Kekana, who showed his followers his journey to his nail tech and the process behind getting his nails done.

Kekana's skit/vlog drew comments from his teammates and his former coach, Rulani Mokwena, whom he shared a positive personal and professional relationship with.
"You have too much time on your hands," commented Rulani.
"You deserve a spot ko [in] parliament," joked Aubrey Modiba.
"Yah no, I give up roomza," quipped Teboho Mokoena, with Mothobi Mvala, Evidence Makgopa, Terrence Mashego also commenting on Kekana's comedic post.
