The story
For the latest edition of their digital magazine, Mamelodi Sundowns teamed up with African Fashion International (AFI) and their retail store House of Nala, for a stylish photoshoot that seamlessly fuses the worlds of football and fashion.
Masandawana's 2024/25 "Rise.Rule.Repeat" Home and Away kits by PUMA were used as a source of inspiration in the shoot, seeing the legends such as Teko Modise, Tiyani, Hlompho Kekana and Roger Feutmba model alongside the club's Men's and Ladies players.
AFI, who provide a broad platform for African luxury brands, styled the Sundowns players legends in local high-end brands such as Kente Gentlemen, GVLLVNT, URBAN ZULU, and their own atelier AFI Privé for the vibrant magazine editorial, which embodies the Masandawana's African pride.

"It's showcasing the new jersey for Mamelodi Sundowns and we're mixing that with streetwear and fashion, just to give ideas on how you can dress or dress down this new Mamelodi Sundowns regalia," noted club ambassador and one of the cover star, Teko Modise.
The club shared some behind-the-scenes footage of the photoshoot, with the likes of Marcello Allende, Lucas Ribeiro Costa, Aubrey Modiba, and Grant Kekana all having fun on set with the Banyana Ba Style and the aforementioned legends.
"Sundowns isn't just all about football, it's about fashion, it's about empowering yourself, and being comfortable in your body," said Cimone Sauls, Sundowns Ladies midfielder.
"When you talk about football and fashion, I believe they both always work together. Especially for a team like Mamelodi Sundowns, they play beautiful football and fashion is about beauty. So, I believe both of them go well together," noted Downs and Cameroon legend, Roger Fuetmba.
