The story
adidas proudly reintroduces the iconic Trefoil logo to the football pitch, unveiling the third jerseys for its five major European clubs; Arsenal, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Juventus and Real Madrid.
The Trefoil, long a symbol of contemporary street style and reserved for adidas Originals and special off-pitch designs since 2000, is making a return to celebrate the brand's 75th anniversary in 2025. This move highlights the growing intersection of fashion and football.
Sam Handy, SVP of Product and Design at adidas Football, stated: "Football and fashion are more intertwined than ever. The Trefoil logo represents elegance and authentic style, and as we approach our 75th anniversary, it's the perfect time to blend these worlds. Our new third jerseys are designed with the mantra 'beautiful kits for the beautiful game,' reflecting our commitment to both performance and fashion."
As mentioned in adidas' statement on the stylish kit releases, these kits are crafted for performance and to provide players with the confidence to play well under pressure and the lightweight jerseys feature the latest in adidas' technology, created in close collaboration with each club.
"Each jersey comes in a casual straight hem shape, setting them apart from the home and away jerseys' sporty elongated hem. The look is completed with a woven-base trefoil authentic label and flat knit collar and cuffs," revealed adidas, adding:
"The jerseys for Manchester United and Juventus feature unique club crests, replacing the traditional versions seen on this season's home and away kits."

Arsenal: A modern twist on 90s classics, featuring a bold design with a smart crew neck and stylish sleeve detailing, complemented by the Trefoil and cannon badge.
FC Bayern Munich: Combining the club's signature red and white palette with a subtle diamond graphic, this jersey includes a flat-knit polo collar and FCB sign-off for a look that shines both on and off the field.
Juventus: Inspired by a moonlit night, this jersey features a navy blue and gold color scheme with a tonal graphic and an elegant polo collar. The Juventus crest is replaced by a gold zebra silhouette.
Manchester United: Showcasing the global fanbase's pride, this kit features a red, white, and black tricolor flag and the iconic club devil emblem. The back neck displays "One Love, MUFC, The Religion."
Real Madrid: Merging classic style with modern touches, this jersey uses a charcoal/mauve palette and an "RMCF" monogram pattern, finished with a flat-knit polo collar and the Trefoil logo.
The kit launch campaign video showcased legends, Patrick Viera (Arsenal); Rio Ferdinand (Manchester United); Zinedine Zidane (Real Madrid), Bastian Schweinsteiger (Bayern Munich) and Alessandro Del Piero (Juventus), modelling the new Third kits.
