TS Galaxy coach Sead Ramovic has taken a swipe at Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena for what he describes as an excuse made for their penalty shootout defeat to the Rockets in the Carling Knockout.
Galaxy knocked Sundowns out of the competition in the last 16, going all the way to penalties after Ramovic's men squandered a 2-0 lead to allow the Tshwane giants back into the game.

Sundowns were without seven of their key players who were away on international duty with Bafana Bafana at the time and Mokwena mentioned this after that game. Over a month since the clash, the Galaxy coach has voiced his opinion, saying that Mokwena did not respect both his own players and those of Galaxy by saying that Sundowns were without their key men for the clash.
Speaking ahead of the Carling Knockout semi-final against AmaZulu this weekend, Ramovic said: "When you watch our games, we were unlucky against Royal AM. We had 15 opportunities, but we did not score. Against SuperSport, our mistakes and we concede a goal. If you watch (against) Richards Bay, very unlucky. But all in all, we don't want to find excuses like other coaches do. For example, when we won against Sundowns, what was the excuse from the coach? He didn't play with seven players. How is this respect for the players that played?
"The player you bought for R60 million? Then you bought the guy from Stellenbosch. How much they pay? R12 million. Then you have Zungu and a lot of other national (team) players and then you come up with an excuse to disrespect my staff, my players, myself. A strong coach will not find an excuse. He will say fantastic job from Galaxy and we show respect.

"I think he also disrespects his own players, their own team. If he says he cannot win with these guys? I think the team that played against us can win the league. Top players, unbelievable. So, it means we also did a fantastic job."
