OFFICIAL: SuperSport Beat Bucs & CT City To Diski Title

SuperSport United 3-0 Swallows FC

SuperSport United were crowned DStv Diski Challenge champions, after Cape Town City failed to beat TS Galaxy on Sunday.

First-team player Thapelo Maseko, who was called to the reverse team, opened the deadlock in the first half before a penalty from Thabang Mahlangu doubled matters.

Matsatsantsa completed the comprehensive display with a few minutes to go after Neo Rapoo bundled in from poor bit of defending.

Richards Bay FC 0-0 Orlando Pirates

Orlando Pirates' hopes to land the DStv Diski Challenge title were brought to an end following a disappointing goalless draw against Richards Bay FC on Saturday.

Pirates entered the match second on the table and on course for the title, but weren't able to breakdown the Natal Rich Boys in both halves and evidently missed out on the crown.

Cape Town City 1-2 TS Galaxy

Cape Town City's title hopes ended with a 2-1 defeat to TS Galaxy at the Tsakane Stadium in the East Rand on Sunday morning.

The Citizens secured the opener after a goalless first half from a disappointing back-pass by Prince Kgagara on the back of poor defensive work by the Rockets.

Substitute Luke Mbewu put the host back on equal terms through a well-taken glancing header in the middle of the second exchanges.

With two minutes to go, Nkosikhona Radebe handed the Rockets the points courtesy of a smartly taken finish and inadvertently helped SuperSport United become champions of the DStv Diski Challenge.

AmaZulu 0-2 Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs claimed two wins on the spin to cement fourth place after seeing off AmaZulu 2-0 in their penultimate clash of the campaign.

Usuthu were reduced to ten players on the stroke halftime when Lindani Shange earned his marching orders for a poor tackle on Donay Jansen.

Jansen's fortunes turned for the good before the break as he attacked a diagonal cross in the area following a flick and directed a first-time header into the far-post.

Chiefs continued to have the dominance after halftime and bagged a second towards the end with a close-range finish by star-man Mfundo Vilakazi.

Royal AM 1-1 Mamelodi Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns looked to get back on the winning path but could only manage a 1-1 draw against Royal AM at the Mpumalanga Stadium.

The Brazilians went down in pretty disappointing fashion last weekend to Orlando Pirates, while Royal AM were crushed 5-0 at the hands of Stellenbosch FC.

Sekhukhune United 2-3 Chippa United

Chippa United got just their third win of the season in an entertaining 3-2 victory over the mid-table Sekhukhune United at the Isak Steyl Stadium.

It's been defeat upon defeat for the Chilli Boys in recent times, as their last win before were against Swallows FC in November last year.

Sekhukhune had eagerly hoped to maintain their winning run following last weekend triumph over Swallows and were on track through Aubrey Maphosa and Kutlwano Theoha, but to no avail.

Golden Arrows 2-0 Maritzburg United

Golden Arrows bagged a fifth straight win and solidified fifth-place with a 2-0 victory over Maritzburg United in the KwaZulu-Natal derby.

Abafana Besthende hit the front on the half-hour mark through Siyavuya Ndlovu and completed the victory when Likho James bagged the winner at the death to leave United in troubled territory.

Marumo Gallants FC 2-0 Stellenbosch FC

Stellenbosch FC failed to maintain their winning momentum and succumbed to a shock 2-0 defeat against the in-form Marumo Gallants FC in Polokwane.

The win boosted the home side's surge towards the top eight with this their back-to-back win, as the Maroons two-match unbeaten run came to an end.
