Chippa United co-coach Thabo September bemoaned the side's start to the game after conceding after ten minutes against Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Chilli Boys suffered a 2-0 defeat to the DStv Premiership leaders at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday night.
September felt the early goal from Teboho Mokoena derailed their game plan.

"I think we started slow and ja you're playing against a good team and they dictate the terms. We knew that we had to work hard without the ball but the goal killed us, it was too early and then they dictated terms," September told SuperSport after the game.
"But we did have good opportunities in the first half, I think three good opportunities, had we taken at least one of those opportunities, then Sundowns also maybe come out to play more but they were going at their own pace.
"We tried to up the tempo a bit in pressing but they've got good players, so they managed to control the game very well and ja the players fought well.
"I think we can only build from this. Yes, it's a loss, their hard work, attitude and dedication to the game will take us to the next game," he said.
Chippa will now turn their attention to the Nedbank Cup where they will face third-tier side Ravens FC in the round of 16.
