Jose Riveiro is not the type of man to think about revenge, which is why it's not on his mind ahead of today's showdown against Magesi FC in the Carling Cup at Orlando Stadium.
It was at the same venue that rookies Magesi knocked out Soweto giants Orlando Pirates out of the Carling Knockout, beating them 3-2 in a thrilling encounter.

Now, as head coach of the Carling Cup All Star team, Riveiro will come up against Magesi, who are champions of the Carling Knockout.
This is the second time Riveiro has been voted to coach the All Star team. In January, he led the team against 2023 Carling Knockout champions Stellenbosch FC and finished on the winning side. He will be hoping for the same result this season, but revenge is not on his mind.
"It's a different thing. It's true that it's a team that eliminated us (Pirates) from the competition early. We just arrived 45 minutes late in the game. It was a difficult day, a strange one. I don't see the opportunity now like kind of a revenge. We are going to have our own on the 29th (of December), but now it's an opportunity, especially for the guys to go for a good show, understanding that Magesi is a tough team to play against," Riveiro said earlier this week.

"I am happy to represent these boys on Saturday to give them the right space and platform to showcase their talent and skills. More than anything else, it's a day to entertain the people who are going to come to the stadium and who is going to follow us at home."
