Ernst Middendorp has been hoping for a meeting with fellow coaches in the PSL to share ideas about advancing the standard of football in the country and to improve their relationship, the respected coach told Soccer Laduma in a previous interview.
Bafana Bafana coach, Hugo Broos, has been vocal about his failed attempts to have meetings with PSL coaches and hasn't been pleased at what he termed as lack of co-operation between SAFA and the league and it seems Middendorp is feeling the same way.

On the back of what seemed to be some disagreements between PSL coaches, the Siya crew takes a look at what Middendorp said in an interview with this publication about relationships with colleagues in the league.
"I know some guys a bit more in detail, some guys like Rulani, like Gavin Hunt and probably Steve Komphela, I know them a little bit more because we talked. But the rest, sorry, it's just smiling and it's just looking at you and being friendly but, in the end, just if you turn around, they talk sh*t, they talk nonsense in terms of whatever," said Middendorp, speaking exclusively to the Siya crew.

"Again, it's probably not for all the coaches, but I think actually when it comes to the PSL, again look into it, why is it not possible to organise a meeting with the coaches? Again, it's not a fault of any individual but there is something missing in the end… culture of a healthy PSL coaching environment. We are not working on it, and we are not structuring it.
"I know exactly and I can read the smiles of other people, I'm too long in this business and I know exactly what it means when someone is facing you, and when he turns around you get gossip left and right. You have to understand that if you want to get trust from people you have to mean it (what you say) and you have to communicate. You have to share ideas and I think this is not what has happened here in the PSL," the Cape Town Spurs mentor added.
