Cape Town City have confirmed that midfielder Fortune Makaringe has suffered an ankle injury that will keep him sidelined for an extended period.

The 31-year-old, who rejoined coach Eric Tinkler at the Citizens after a five-year stint at Orlando Pirates, has been a key figure in City's midfield since his arrival.

Makaringe has been in strong form this season, making eight appearances and missing only two games in all competitions. His dynamic presence and experience have been crucial for City, but with the injury, the club will have to adapt without one of their most influential players.
