Interest from Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs have been confirmed for last season's DStv Premiership joint top goal-scorer Khanyisa Mayo although the player would not come cheap.
Mayo has been one of the sought-after players following his escapades of last season where he netted 12 goals in the league and finished the campaign as the joint highest goal-scorer with Mamelodi Sundowns' Peter Shalulile.

Sundowns and Chiefs have been some of the clubs interested in the striker, while there has also been talk of a potential move for the 24-year-old.
City chairman John Comitis has confirmed interest from both clubs while he also gave a R36 million evaluation for the star.
"Mayo's value is in excess of two million dollars in my opinion, and we're not going to compromise and sell ourselves short and also he also deserves to go to a big club," said Comitis, speaking to the media.
"So, we want to be patient… he himself understands that he possibly needs one more season (with us). If Mayo gets 15 goals, it's going to be the hardest thing to keep him in this country. We had a lot of interest from Qatar and we had a lot of interest from Saudi Arabia, but I think he deserves to go to Europe, he has that ability and mentality for it, so we're patient. But I do think that he has a job to do with us here and I think with his goals we can certainly turn that into silverware," the club boss said.

Regarding interest from Downs and Amakhosi, Comitis said, "It's not a secret that the big clubs would like to have Mayo. We've had brief discussions with Sundowns… that's why you see we never get any Sundowns players because the minute I ask for a Sundowns player then I'm having to sell one of mine to them, so it's a bit of a catch-22. Sundowns' obviously interested and there's inherit relationship with Kaizer Chiefs."
