Following the announcement of Lorenzo Gordinho's signing, Cape Town City have unveiled another player ahead of the opening of the January transfer window.
The Citizens are already busy preparing for the second half of the season, and they have now confirmed the arrival of Colombia forward Juan Camilo Zapata, as previously reported by the Siya crew.
The 28-year-old will bring loads of experience to the side, having recently played his football in Venezuela. This could be City's way of preparing for life without Khanyisa Mayo, who is believed to be a target of Mamelodi Sundowns.
Zapata has penned a four-year deal.
City have already sold Craig Martin to Orlando Pirates and there is no ruling out that there could be more players who leave the club in January.
During the January transfer window in 2021, the Citizens let go of Fagrie Lakay, Surprise Ralani, Abdul Ajagun and Abbubeker Mobara.
It seemed a strange decision to let go of so many players during one transfer window, especially midway through the season, but they went on to have an impressive run which saw them finishing in second place in the DSTV Premiership, as they qualified for the CAF Champions League.
The Siya crew has been led to believe that the club would consider letting go of Mayo in the coming window period, with plans in place to ensure the squad is still strong enough to compete in the league and Nedbank Cup in the second half of the campaign.
