The 36-year-old joined City in 2019 and has been part of the core team and has worked with Benni McCarthy, Jan Olde Riekerink and more recently, Eric Tinkler. During his time with the Cape outfit, Makola had his run-ins with the PSL law, particularly when the PSL Disciplinary Committee handed him a two-month suspension as a result of his aggressive outburst during the Citizens' MTN8 final loss to Mamelodi Sundowns.
Cape Town City since made the announcement on the club's social media platforms.
City has agreed to part ways with Mpho Makola by mutual agreement.
