CT City & Sekhukune Reveal New Signings

Cape Town City have confirmed adding an Angolan striker to coach Eric Tinkler's squad ahead of the new season.

Having so far confirmed signing defender Tshegofatso Nyama who came from TS Galaxy, the Citizens have now bolstered their ranks with the addition of forward Jo Paciencia from Luanda-based Grupo Desportivo Interclube.

He scored nine goals from 25 appearances in all competitions last season and has previously played for Petro Luanda FC in his career, which is the same club that City's former goalkeeper Hugo Marques is with.    

The Mother City club confirmed the signing of the 27-year-old on the club's official Twitter account this morning.

"Cape Town City is delighted to announce the signing of Jo Paciencia. The Angolan centre forward signs a permanent deal to bolster the forward options ahead of the new season. LETS GO JO!," confirmed City on the club's official Twitter account.

Meanwhile, Sekhukhune United have confirmed signing Siphesihle Mkhize from Mamelodi Sundowns on a three-year deal.

"Sekhukhune United Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Siphesihle Elwin Mkhize from Mamelodi Sundowns ahead of the 2023/24 DSTV Premiership season on a three-year deal," confirmed the club in a statement.  

"Born in Umlazi, KwaZulu Natal on the 5th of February 1999, Mkhize (24) started his football career with Mamelodi Sundown's Academy in 2013. He was promoted to the senior team in 2019 but was often loaned out to gain experience. After spending the 2019/20 season at Ajax Cape Town FC on loan, the defensive midfielder was then loaned to Chippa United where he spent the last two seasons, amassing 33 league starts during that period. "Siphe" as he is affectionately known, has represented the National Under 20 in 2019 Africa Cup of Nations held in Niger and U20 World Cup in Poland. He was also part of the Cosafa squad in 2020. Mkhize revealed that he is looking forward to the exciting new season ahead. He has promised the "Babina Noko" fans that he will do his best to ensure that the club stays where it belongs Sekhukhune United FC would like to welcome Mkhize to the "Babina Noko" family," the statement concluded.
