Official: Carlinhos Joins CT City

Cape Town City have confirmed the signing Carlos Stenio Fernandes Guimaraes do Carmo, who is otherwise known as Carlinhos.

The Angolan midfielder has been linked with the Citizens in recent weeks, and having recently parted ways with Petro de Luanda FC back home, a switch to the Mother City, has been expected for him.

Following the arrivals of Fortune Makaringe, Haashim Domingo, Kayden Francis, Elson Sithole and Namibian international Prins Tjiueza at City, the Eric Tinkler coached side has now confirmed the capture of Carlinhos' signature.

Carlinhos is most effective as a playmaker and is expected to help City with creativity in midfield in search of goals to assist the club in challenging for trophies in the upcoming season.

Apart from spending most of his career in Angola since turning professional in 2013, the 29-year-old previously also had a stint with Tanzanian giants Young Africans in the 2020/21 season.
