Stellenbosch FC Fans Take Home R200 000 As The First Dstv Premiership Amafandayz Winners

Stellenbosch FC Fans Take Home R200 000 As The First Dstv Premiership Amafandayz Winners

As the first AmaFanDayz competition got underway during the recent DStv Premiership match between Stellenbosch FC and SuperSport United, Kira Herman and Walter Williams became instant winners at the first AmaFanDayz fan of the match competition.

The duo, based in Stellenbosch, were rewarded for supporting their local team and scoring on the pitch through the AmaFanDayz halftime competition. For their success on a chilly night at the Danie Craven stadium, Kira and Walter each walked away with R100 000 cash. Had they been active DStv Compact subscribers or higher, they could have doubled their respective prize to R200 000.

Kira Herman (21), a first-year fashion student in Stellenbosch plans on visiting her sister in Dubai with some of her winnings. Walter Williams, an ardent Stellies FC supporter was overjoyed after winning this prize. The 53-year-old was one of the first supporters to arrive at stadium on the day.

"I had long planned to be among the first supporters to get to the stadium on time so as to stand a better chance at winning this big prize. I'm really grateful to DStv for this competition, for winning it and them recognizing us as fans of the beautiful game," said Williams.

Williams, who is a lab assistant by profession in the Department of Agriculture, plans to use some of his winnings to help the youth that are struggling in his community of Cloetesville in Stellenbosch.

The competition returns to the Western Province at the end of this month, at the much-anticipated Cape Town Derby when Cape Town City hosts Cape Town Spurs at the DHL Stadium (Sat, 30 September, 3pm), where the next AmaFanDayz winner will be revealed that afternoon.

To enter the competition, fans are encouraged to get match tickets, dress up in their team regalia then visit the DStv activation zone inside the stadium to sign up with DStv promoters to stand a chance to be one of three participants in a sudden death penalty shootout until there is one winner against a DStv star.

On match day, fans who sign up for the AmaFanDayz competition will receive a blue ticket which gives them access into the Blue Zone, a demarcated seating area which offers entertainment and free merchandise.

DStv customers should stay tuned to SuperSport for top-notch content, as once again all 240 DStv Premiership matches will be shown live on TV or via streaming on the home of entertainment, the home of Diski.
