With only a few hours before the start of their first ever CAF Confederation Cup campaign, Marumo Gallants are still waiting for the arrival of a goalkeeper for their match against Futuro Kings in Equatorial Guinea.
The Limpopo side travelled to the Equatorial Guinea with just 12 players, a reported by the Siya crew, and the coach Sébastien Migné has been without a recognised goalkeeper for the trip due to administrative issues.
However, it seems all has been sorted as arrangements were made for some of the team members to link up with the rest of the squad in Mongomo today for this afternoon's match.
Goalkeeper Washington Arubi is on his way to join the team this morning, and his representative from M Sport Management Michael Ngobeni has explained why the 36-year-old is joining the team late.
"Washington was with the national team of Zimbabwe in Ethiopia for the match played on Tuesday. From there, he came back to South Africa to collect his Visa in Pretoria, and he had to go back the same day to Ethiopia. From there, he proceeded to Cameroon and then connected to Equatorial Guinea," said Ngobeni.
"But he is almost there now and is about to link with the team this morning. Washington is a soldier and is used to tough conditions. He will be ready to play and don't be surprised if he puts in a Man of the Match performance," concluded the representative.
