Marumo Gallants will get their CAF Confederations Cup journey underway this weekend, however, there is reason for concern for the Polokwane-based squad.
Gallants' qualified for the continental showpiece courtesy of their Nedbank Cup win over Chippa United in May and are set to face Liga Nacional de Fútbol side Futuro Kings FC on Saturday 11 September in Equatorial Guinea.
The club will have to make do with a very thin squad, and have shockingly travelled with just 12 players, the Siya crew can reveal.
Siya sources have indicated that Gallants could only travel with 12 players due to challenges faced with regards to registration for the entire team, which were not resolved by the time the club departed for Equatorial Guinea.
Visuals from the club's first training session on Wednesday show the depleted squad being put through their paces as they prepare for the encounter.
Attempts by the Siya crew to get hold of club spokesperson and liaison manager Rufus Matsena proved futile at the time of publishing.
The match is scheduled for kick off at 17:00, although there is a one-hour time difference between South Africa and Equatorial Guinea.
