Marumo Gallants succumbed to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Futuro Kings in their CAF Confederation Cup debut on Saturday afternoon.
Gallants qualified for the Confederation Cup after the won the Nedbank Cup last season when they were still known as Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.
The South African side's preparations were disrupted as they only travelled to Equatorial Guinea with 12 first team players while goalkeeper Washington Arubi only joined up with the team late.
The disruptions seemingly didn't factor in too much as Gallants managed to clinch an away goal in the defeat to give themselves some hope ahead of next week's second leg.
