Sekhukhune United suffered a 1-0 defeat to Deportivo Lunda Sul in their CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round first leg on Saturday afternoon.

Unlike Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns and Stellenbosch, Sekhukhune will be playing their second match of the season, having previously lost to Cape Town City in the first round for the MTN8 last month.Lloyd Kazapua was given a start in goal for Sekhukhune while new signings Shaun Mogaila, Relebogile Mokhuoane and Sikhosonke Langa were also included in the starting line-up.
The Limpopo side made it to the group stages of this competition last season, but only managed to register one win and finished third in their group.
The visiting side, however, could not find a way past the Lunda Sal defence in the opening 45 minutes as they went into the halftime break with the score level at 0-0.
Unfortunately, one would b enough to separate the two sides as Joca proved to be the hero with the winning goal in the second-half stoppage time.
Up next, Sekhukhune will be back in action on Wednesday evening as they begin their Betway Premiership campaign against newly-promoted Magesi FC.
