Kaizer Chiefs head coach, Stuart Baxter, says his side needs to convert the chances they create.
A stoppage time header from Tefu Mashamaite handed Chiefs a slender 2-1 win over Township Rollers in the first leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round clash.
And Baxter believes creating chances and not scoring them is a problem for many sides including Bafana Bafana.
"Both of us, the South Africans teams and the national team, when we play our good football, we have to create and then score those chances," he added.
"If we don't do that, we always give the opponents the option of getting back into the game through a set-play or transition and then you're in trouble, I will say that the boys stuck at it and made sure we have something to take with us."
Baxter admitted it was tough to break down their Botswana counterparts in the second half.
"When you score in the dying minutes of a game, you're always elated that you got the goal, I think if the goal came a lot earlier when we created chances maybe we could have built on that," he added.
"But we didn't and they scored what was a very good goal and then we tried to pick our way through a brick wall for the last 15-20 minutes and to the lads credit they kept on working, they forced a goal, which will gladly take with us to Botswana."
