Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane has once again called on CAF to implement VAR after his side's loss to Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.
Sundowns claimed their first-ever victory over Al Ahly in Egypt courtesy of a late winning goal from Thapelo Morena in their CAF Champions League Group A clash.
Al Ahly remain without a win in Group A, but Mosimane felt his charges were unlucky not to walk away with a result.
"Of course, we are very sad about the result. It's a match that I didn't want to lose. It's part of football. These things happen in football," Mosimane said, as per the club's official website.
"I can't blame the team. We had many opportunities to score. I always knew that if we had any threat it will come from counter attacks.
"I congratulate Mamelodi Sundowns on winning today's game. I think we have to qualify through the hardest way. We have to try and win in South Africa. We can do that.
Mosimane also felt VAR could have helped with Kennedy Mweene appearing to handle the ball outside the box in the second half.
"I will always ask CAF to use VAR throughout the whole competition. The opponent's goalkeeper used his hand to save the ball from outside of the box. Also, I believe Tau was onside when he scored," he continued.
"However, we don't blame the absence of VAR for the loss. We had many opportunities that we should've scored from."
