Mamelodi Sundowns' CAF Champions League Clash Will Have A Swazi Referee

Mamelodi Sundowns travel to Seychelles later this month to face St Michel in the CAF Champions league preliminary round first leg and the game will be handled by Swaziland FIFA accredited referee and his assistants. Read: New Downs Deal For Verbauwhede? The referees will be led by Mbongiseni Fakudze with two assistants Petros Mbingo and Sifiso Nxumalo while Simanga Nhleko will be the forth official. The referee Fakudze and his two assistant were in charge of Bafana Bafana's friendly game against Zambia on January 4 2015 at the Orlando Stadium which the home country won 1-0. Talking to the Siya crew, Fakudze said that it's an honour to officiate a game involving a big team like Mamelodi Sundowns. "All the teams playing in the Champions league are champions in their countries but officiating for Sundowns is an honour and I am glad we will be the ones to do that," Fakudze observed.
