The Brazilians host Mazembe in the first leg of their CAF Champions League campaign, at the Loftus Stadium on Saturday evening.
"TP Mazembe will be one of our toughest tests this season and very crucial for us in the Champions League. I believe they (Mazembe) will come to the match looking to impose themselves on us, but we have to be clinical and tight at the back because it will be much more difficult in the return match.
"The home match is very important in these kind of situations because if we take our chances and be tight at the back, we will go to Lubumbashi with less pressure on our shoulders," Niang told the club's official website.
Sundowns drew 1-1 with St Michel United in Seychelles at the start of their Champions League campaign. The Tshwane outfit won 3-0 at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in the second leg game.
Pitso Mosimane's side were the 4-1 winners on aggregate, at the end of the two games in the previous round.
