Result: Petro de Luanda 1-0 Cape Town City (4-0 on aggregate)

Date: 14 October 2022

Venue: Estadio 11 de Novembro

Wayde Lekay, Jordan Bender and Katlego Mokhuoane were among the changes after the 3-0 defeat in the first leg at Cape Town Stadium

It was a strong opening from the two outfits with the Citizens giving the first warning signs where Mokhuoane needed to clear a delivery away for a corner-kick.

Further threats came the way of the Citizens near the latter exchanges of the half which needed goalkeeper Darren Keet to produce a strong save at the near post.

The Citizens managed to show courage after the rather difficult start and a speculative drive from range by Kajally Drammeh off Mpho Makola's pass brought a save from former City goalkeeper Hugo Marques.

Eric Tinkler's men were still on the up following the halftime interval and threatened the lead courtesy of a long-range drive from Makola as the defence failed to close him down.

Petro regained momentum moments in the second half and solid piece of defending from the Citizens in particular Taariq Fielies was needed to keep matters level.

The Citizens threw a number of bodies during the closing exchanges and watched Makola blaze a free-kick from a promising position over the top.

Petro however showcased accuracy in the last third and took the lead courtesy of Leonardo Manuel Isola Ramos after City failed to clear their lines.

Therefore, the Citizens weren't able to stage a comeback and bowed out of the tournament 4-0 over two-legs.

Here's how they lined up:

Cape Town City: Keet, Mokhuoane, Fasika, Fielies, Mokeke, Makola, Mdantsane, Nodada, Bender, Kajally, Lekay.

Subs: Mpandle, Cupido, Mkhize, Mayo, Goedeman, Gonzalez
