CAF Champions League Match Report: Township Rollers 0-1 Kaizer Chiefs

CAF Champions League Score: Township Rollers 0-1 Kaizer Chiefs Date: 28 February 2015 Venue: National Stadium Kaizer Chiefs defeated Township Rollers 1-0 at the National Stadium to secure their spot in the next round of qualifying for the CAF Champions League. Chiefs dominated right from the onset, as they did in the first leg, and had an early effort at goal, as Bernard Parker forced Masule into a low save, while they were also denied a penalty in the fifth minute, after Siphiwe Tshabalala was brought down in the area. Despite their dominance, Stuart Baxter's side were restricted to long range efforts, none of which troubled the Rollers shot-topper. Chiefs eventually took advantage of their dominance in the 27th minute, as Siyabonga Nkosi got on the end of Matthew Rusike's knockdown before rifling the ball past a helpless Masule. Township Rollers, meanwhile, struggled to get their attacking game going and were often left frustrated by Eric Mathoho and Tefu Mashamaite, while they failed to register an effort target in the opening 45 minutes. Rollers started seeing a bit more of the ball in the second half, although they looked even more dangerous with the set-pieces. Chiefs hardly entered Rollers' final third in the second half, as Baxter brought on Morgan Gould with his side leading 3-1 on aggregate. Chiefs managed to see off any late surge from the Botswana side to confirm their place in the next round of qualifying.
