Usuthu have lost to Raja Casablanca away and, won at home against Horoya AC, and look keen to progress to to the next round of the continental competition.
The Durban side host another tough oponent in wounded ES Setif at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Friday evening and coach Benni McCarthy said that the aim is to avoid a home defeat.
"I think at this time we can't be looking at our shoulders on where everybody is at. For us, (we have to ensure) we get three points at home. We were happy that Raja Casablanca won because now the number two spot is open," McCarthy told the media.
"The Horoya victory gaves us the confidence we need and we know what to expect in the group stages. We are fortunate that our next game is against Setif. We have to analyze them and see their weaknesses."
"We just have to make sure we make our home games count. We have to make them count, there's no other way. We must take advantage of our home ground. If you win at home, you give yourself a sigh of relief."
"We can even win our last game against Raja Casablanca, based on the performances we had away, but what we want is to make sure we get points against Setif at home and take a win or draw away."
