Coach Pitso Mosimane will meet his former club for the second time in CAF champions league on Saturday evening, with his history and relationship with the South African champions, the battle has become one of the most interesting rivalries in African football.
Usuthu coach Benni McCarthy has chosen to rally behind Mamelodi Sundowns to beat Al Ahly as he feels the whole country must unite and support all teams in the CAF competitions.
"Listen coach Pitso Mosimane comes with huge pedigree, Al Ahly they did well in world club cup, but all the games are starting to catch up with them, so it not going to be easy," McCarthy said.
"If I was a betting man, as much as I have good relationship, love and respect for coach Pitso my loyalty is with Mamelodi Sundowns not with Al Ahly. I want them to do well, because they represent South African football like we do with Orlando Pirates, we have be supportive to each other."
"So as much as one of your favourite people that coaching but when it comes up against your countryman, I will always vouch for my country and I know Sundowns have what it takes to beat Al Ahly. They have a massive opportunity, I can point it out that Sundowns is going to win, I'm sorry coach Pitso."
