Mamelodi Sundowns will once again be among the top teams of African football in the CAF Champions League group stages, earning themselves a spot in pot one ahead of the draw on October 6.
The 2016 winners booked themselves a spot in the group stages yet again, beating Tanzanian outfit Bumamuru 6-0 on aggregate in a convincing display.

The DStv Premiership champions will be the only South African club competing in the group stages this season after Soweto giants Orlando Pirates crashed out at the hands of Botswana Premier League outfit Jwaneng Galaxy, who are led by South African-born coach Morena Ramoreboli.
This will not be the first time Galaxy are competing in the group stages under the guidance of Ramoreboli. The highly-rated coach, who led the club to league success last season, took the club to the round robin phase of the competition in 2021/22. That campaign is best remembered for how Galaxy beat Tanzanian giants Simba SC to qualify for the group stages.
Bafana Bafana forward Percy Tau will have another opportunity to get his hands on the prize, as defending champions Al Ahly also confirmed their spot in the group stages with an emphatic 7-0 aggregate victory over Ethiopian side Saint George.
