Benni McCarthy admitted that he wouldn't be holding his breath when Head Coach Stuart Baxter names his Bafana Bafana squad to face Libya in the Africa Cup Of Nations qualifiers.
The former Bafana international commended his players for their performances this season, in particular, the likes of, Thabo Nodada and Thato Mokeke who he admits is a headache to choose from on match days.
Last week, Bafana head coach, Baxter visited the Hartleyvale ground in Cape Town, where City hosted BK Haken in a friendly encounter.

Speaking to the media, McCarthy revealed that Baxter's visit did not particularly have anything to do with Bafana, and questioned about whether he is hopeful for his players to get a national team call-up, the 41-year-old said that he wouldn't be holding his breath.
"I would have died a thousand times if I was holding my breath, so listen I just hope my players keep doing the business and keep working hard for themselves, for their team, they keep growing as individuals, better themselves as players, if they get a call-up and get selected, they get selected, if not, it is not the end of the world, it is not going to change their life dramatically as long as they continue to improve and better themselves," McCarthy said.
"I think he (Baxter) came to see his friends from Haken because he has managed Sweden back in the early days, I don't know what he came to look for," he added.
