It appears the winds of change will be blowing at the Red Devils ahead of the 2022/23 season following what has been another disappointing campaign for the 20-time English champions.
After Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's sacking late in 2021, German tactician Ralf Rangnick was handed the opportunity to work as the club's interim manager, but United, currently in seventh place in the Premier League, could potentially be without European football next season.
Reports claim the club has identified Ajax Amsterdam boss Erik ten Hag as the man to take over the helm going forward, with planning for the coming campaign already said to be underway.
According to the Daily Mirror, a number of first-team players have been informed they will be allowed to move on in July, including Paul Pogba, whose contract expires after this season.
Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard have also been told they can look for new clubs, with the two attacking midfielders having been used sparingly since the 2021/22 campaign started.
Uruguayan forward Edinson Cavani is another who will reportedly not be offered a new deal in England, while another two seniors are said to have received confirmation they will be shipped out before next season rolls around.
There could be more departures, however, with Anthony Martial and Dean Henderson understood to be among several players seeking transfers away from United.
This weekend, the Red Devils will go up against Frank Lampard's Everton in the Premier League as they aim to win their first league game since beating Tottenham Hotspur in March.
