Former Al Ahly coach, Pitso Mosimane, and Orlando Pirates' Mandla Ncikazi have been nominated for the Men's Coach of the Year award at the 2022 CAF Awards.
The duo is among the 20 coaches who have been shortlisted for Africa's top coach accolade including renowned tacticans such as Carlos Quieroz (Egypt), Florent Ibenge (RS Berkane), Vahid Halilhodzic (Morocco), Walid Regragui (Wydad Athletic Club) and Aliou Cisse (Senegal).
Mosimane led Ahly to the 2022 CAF Champions League final where the Cairo giants were beaten 2-0 in the final by Wydad Casablanca. With that defeat Mosimane fell short of becoming the only coach to win the CAF Champions League title three times in a row.
Pirates co-coach Ncikazi also saw his side suffer defeat in the CAF Confederations Cup at the hands of RS Berkane
