Kaizer Chiefs have already announced a number of departures, with Lebogang Manyama, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, and Leonardo Castro arguably the three prominent names shown the exit door at Naturena.
The trio remains clubless, but Manyama is reportedly set for a return to his former club Cape Town City, while it looks as though Mphahlele and Castro might have to wait a bit longer before finding new homes.
In a recent interview with Soccer Laduma, Castro revealed that he has received offers from various clubs. "I have been contacted by a few people already, but I'm only going to decide once I have met with the whole family. Only then will I know what's best for our family," he said.
And as reported by the Siya crew, Vilakazi's exit from Mamelodi Sundowns is imminent as his contract expired on June 30, and the Tshwane giants haven't yet triggered the option that will see him stay at Chloorkop beyond the 2021/22 season.
Sundowns missed the deadline of May 31 to exercise the option, but talks continued, and indications are that Sundowns will make an announcement soon.
Thulani Hlatshwayo and Thabang Monare remain unattached since they parted ways with Orlando Pirates.
Hlatshwayo, a former Bafana Bafana and Pirates captain, has been linked with SuperSport United, while it is believed that AmaZulu and Royal AM are interested in Monare's services.
Other notable free agents include Robyn Johannes, Marc van Heerden, Nathan Sinkala, Daniel Akpeyi, Kearyn Baccus and Daniel Cardoso.
