The 25-year-old was previously linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs for several months, however, after he became a free agent, it was City who acted quickly to secure his services.
City now have a double boost in midfield, with Mpho Makola returning to the fold after his six-month football ban was overturned.
Although, the Citizens do still have Travis Graham training at the club under the watchful eye of Head Coach Jan Olde Riekerink and his technical team, although the Dutch tactician is yet to make a decision about whether or not Graham will put pen to paper on another deal at the club.
City have six fixtures lined up for the month of January, against Baroka FC in the first clash of the new year and thereafter against AmaZulu FC, Kaizer Chiefs, Bidvest Wits, Black Leopards and Maritzburg United.
However, it remains to be seen whether Mdantsane will be in contention to make his debut for the Citizens against his former side on January 05.
