A former AmaZulu player has described the current generation of players at the club as one of the best in the club's history, as the club prepares to take part in their first knockout competition final since 2010.
Usuthu face Soweto giants Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 final, looking to win their first piece of silverware at a competitive level for the first time in 30 years. They won the Coca Cola Cup in 1992 and a majority of the players in the current squad were not born.

Tapuwa Kapini joined Usuthu a year after they lost to Bidvest Wits in the 2010 Nedbank Cup final at FNB Stadium and is hoping the current generation of players can bring success to KZN.
"This is a great achievement for everyone who is involved with AmaZulu. There's are generations that have played for AmaZulu, but I think this is one of the best generations to represent the club. It's a job well done for the players, coaches, supporters and everyone who works behind the scenes. It's just amazing for the club," Kapini told the Siya crew.

"It's up to the players now to go deliver, but there is no pressure at all. They should go do what they have been doing from the first game. I am proud of them as a former AmaZulu captain. They just need to go out there and give it a go. Pirates is not easy to break them down, but AmaZulu do have Ayanda Dlamini, who has been there for them and he knows what it means to play for the club. The new coach (Romain Folz) also has some insight on how to breakdown Pirates, so I just wish them all the best. If they play like they have been playing, I think they can walk away victorious."
