Former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns star Ramahlwe Mphahlele may not take too long before finding a new club as the Siya crew has learnt that he has attracted interest from Sekhukhune United.
Mphahlele was surprisingly released from AmaZulu FC last month, though he had been one of the regulars in the team. It is understood that the defender and Keagan Buchanan had a fallout with Usuthu coach Romain Folz, which led to the club deciding to release both players.
The 33-year-old had been with the Durban-based club since August, following his release from Amakhosi at the end of last season. Now, news reaching this publication is that Sekhukhune are showing interest in the veteran campaigner to reunite him with his former coach, Brandon Truter.
It was under Truter that Mphahlele was signed at AmaZulu after he impressed the coach in training before the mentor was relieved of his duties in October.
Indications from sources is that a potential move to Babina Noko is being bandied about for Mphahlele as the club strives for success by assembling the best squad possible to compete in their third DStv Premiership season.
Should he be signed, the Ga-Mphahlele-born man would join the likes of Sibusiso Vilakazi and Kamohelo Mokotjo among some of the latest high-profile additions to the ambitious outfit.
