With Belgian coach Luc Eymael linked with a return to Mzansi, the mentor's camp has commented on his future ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Following the recent departure of Ayanda Dlamini from AmaZulu where he was an interim coach, Eymael has emerged as a favourite for the vacant coaching role at the Durban-based club.

Contacted for comment, Eymael's representative Brett Arthur confirmed the tactician's possible return to the DStv Premiership although he has concerns over what happened the last time the 63-year-old received an offer from Mzansi.
In December 2020, Eymael was unveiled as the technical advisor at Chippa United though his appointment was later withdrawn by the Eastern Cape club over allegations of racism during his time coaching Tanzanian giants Young Africans earlier that year.
The experienced coach was later acquitted by Safa's ethics committee in 2021, which gave him permission to coach in Mzansi again.
"Listen, with a guy like Luc Eymael from a coaching pedigree, there's always going to be interest, we know that. But we also know that there may be stumbling blocks and I'm hoping the stumbling blocks are completely a thing of the past. Yanga were fined by FIFA and we know what happened with SAFA, so Luc should actually be able to walk a free man into South Africa. He is a top coach who could improve the standard of our PSL football," said Arthur.

"Yes, it is true that we have been speaking to Mr. (Sandile) Zungu (AmaZulu chairman) and I have been pushing Luc on him but to be quite honest with you, nothing concrete. That's all I can honestly say at the moment. We are hoping. Luc can kind of get opportunities elsewhere but his heart is really in South Africa and he wants to come back here. Luc watches every game in Belgium and he's got a special satellite set up just for PSL football. In a recent conversation with him he was asking me, 'Brett, how can Chiefs be underperforming with such a good team?' I've always said it, Luc Eymael is one of the best coaches as we speak. He has won things all over Africa, and why not in South Africa? If he can win (the Nedbank Cup) with Free State Stars, what can he do with Mr. Zungu's budget?" concluded the intermediary.
