Nations League: Italy Stun France In Paris

France 1-3 Italy

France started their UEFA Nations League campaign with a 3-1 loss to Italy in Paris on Friday night.

Michael Olise has earned his first start for the two-time World champions while Ibrahima Konate joined William Saliba in the heart of the defence.

The French got off to the perfect start when Barcola won possession high up before calmly slotting past Gianluigi Donnarumma inside the first minute.

The Italians managed to pull themselves in the 30th minute when Sandro Tonali did well to pick out Federico Dimarco, who sent a fine finish into the back of the net.

Italy turned things around after the halftime break when Davide Frattesi finished off a well-worked move after winning the ball.

The Azzurri went on to grab a third goal in the 74th minute as Giacomo Raspadori surged into the box and guided past Saliba before slotting into the far corner.

Belgium 3-1 Israel

Belgium got off to a winning start after defeating Isreal 3-1 at the Nagyerdei Stadion.

The Red Devils opened the scoring after 21 minutes when Jeremy Doku raced to the byline before pulling the ball back for Kevin de Bruyne to slot home.

The lead was erased ten minutes before the halftime break as defender Timoty Castagne diverted the ball into his own net while trying to clear.

Three minutes after the break, the home side restored their lead in th 48th minute via Youri Tielemans' strike.

Belgium did not have wait long for another goal after being awarded a penalty, which De Bruyne converted to complete his brace.

The Red Devils will be in action against France on Monday night.
