Ronaldo remained scoreless in the 2018/19 edition, as his side beat Manchester United 1-0 on his return to Old Trafford on Tuesday night.
Meanwhile, his former teammate Karim Benzema opened the scoring for Los Blancos in their 2-1 win over Viktoria Plzen.
Benzema, who had not found the back of the net for Real since 1 September, has now scored 57 goals in the Champions League.
In doing so, he moved one clear of former Real and Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy into fourth position among the competitions all-time top scorers.
