Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand believes that Roberto Firmino will be feeling the pressure after seeing one of the the Reds' new arrival bang in the goals.
Diogo Jota has had an incredible start to life at Anfield, scored the winner against West Ham United on the weekend before smashing in a hat-trick against Atalanta in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
The Portugal international, who had replaced Firmino in the 70th minute of the game against the Hammers, has now scored seven goals in just 10 games for the Reds, while the Brazilian has scored just once so far this season.
The Merseysiders face a massive tie against Manchester City in the Premier League next, and Ferdinand believes that Firmino will be stressing about his place in Liverpool's starting XI.
"I'm sure Firmino will be sitting there compiling a little playback list to show to Klopp to remind him of what he's capable of doing," Ferdinand said, according to the Liverpool Echo.
"Firmino, like it or not, will want to start and this guy (Jota) has put him under huge pressure."
Regarding Jota's form since arriving at Liverpool, Ferdinand added: "He's in a better team, getting better opportunities.
"He's probably already had more opportunities already in his time at Liverpool than he probably did last year at Wolves."
